Expansion?

Lauren has been flower farming, doing events, and working as a sought-after floral freelancer, all on top of working a full-time job! She had the opportunity to take on a new plot of land but wanted to be smart about it. Over the course of a few sessions, we put our heads together to dig into her business as it was at time time, and what it could become with new opportunities provided by the expansion.

We specifically focused on:

  • The need to streamline production if she were to expand. I stressed the importance of limiting her crop selection to those that were in demand, low-maintenance (due to her busy schedule), and didn’t need to be harvested daily.

  • Expanding wholesale to grocery stores (general how to go about it in a profitable way)

  • Infrastructure improvements - was it time to build a cooler?

  • Crop planning for market bouquets

  • When to think about distribution?

Thank you so much, Lennie. That was so helpful and encouraging. Having an experienced and supportive voice to sound off with is just invaluable. I’m so grateful to be able to have time like this with you. You’re amazing!
